Every other index of this site is in the order somebody *chose*. The plate runs by accession number, the two lists on the front of the cabinet run by what a page is for, and the drawers menu runs the same way. **This page is the one that runs by date** — every page here, newest first, with the day it arrived, the line it leads with, and how often we have had to correct it since. It is measured from the repository rather than written down anywhere, so there is no second copy of it to rot. [The register](https://queering.earth/changelog) cannot answer the question, and that was worth finding out before trusting it. Its word *Mounted* means anything added *to* a page, not a page coming into being: [the colophon](https://queering.earth/design) carries five such entries, [Two Cohabitating Modes](https://queering.earth/two-cohabitating-modes) six, the front of the cabinet ten — and [the privacy page](https://queering.earth/privacy) carries none at all, because nothing was ever mounted on it. Taking the earliest would have dated several pages by accident and one not at all. **So the measurement is checked against what we wrote down.** Every sheet carries an accession stamp with a date in it, and twelve pages carry a provenance line with another. The generator compares all three for every page it lists and refuses to run if any two disagree — because the day a stamp and a commit stop agreeing, this site is about to say two different things about one day, and it is better to stop than to pick one. They all agree today; that was measured rather than assumed. ## What this page is not It is not [the register](https://queering.earth/changelog), and the two are deliberately different documents. The register is kept by *accession* — a dated group holding a new sheet, the corrections that came with it, and the reasoning behind both — and it runs to some forty thousand words because the reasoning is the point of it. **It answers *why*.** If you want to know what we got wrong and how it was caught, that is the page, and its own index at the foot files every entry by which sheet it happened to. This page answers **what**, in one screen or two. The only thing it borrows from the register is the correction count beside each page, and that count is read from the register’s own filing rather than counted by hand: every entry there states which sheet it concerns, and this page adds them up. **The two have a feed each**, for the same reason they are two pages: [one carries the arrivals](https://queering.earth/feed.xml) and [one carries the accessions](https://queering.earth/register.xml). They were a single feed until 11 September 2026, and merging them made the corrections — the thing this site most wants you to be able to audit — look like noise around the new sheets. It is not [the finding aid](https://queering.earth/search) either. That searches inside the pages; this one only lists them.
